Central Region & Canada Team
Lisa Hennessy is the Vice President of Avalon’s Central Region & Canada and is responsible for overseeing the region’s sales and account management functions. She also manages Avalon’s Canadian operations which are conducted through Avalon Risk Management (Canada) Inc. Lisa has worked for Avalon for over 20 years and has held several management positions which have contributed to her well-rounded resume of experience.
Lisa’s prior roles include supervising Avalon’s bond team where she worked directly with clients and CBP to process US Customs bonds and she also supervised Avalon’s Managing General Agent (MGA) unit where she managed the underwriting team for Avalon’s Combined Transit Liability and Property and Casualty programs. She was then promoted to Regional Vice President for Avalon’s Midwest territory. Lisa obtained her Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO) license in 2021. Canadian Customs Bonds and Canadian Transportation Business were then added to her realm of responsibility, leading her to her current position of Vice President, Central Region and Canada.
Lisa joined the Chicago Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarder Association Board of Directors as a non-voting member in 2018. Lisa is involved in various industry related trade associations including the International Trade Association of Greater Chicago, International Air Cargo Association of Chicago, Detroit Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association, Transportation Intermediary Association Canadian Society of Customs Brokers and Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association.
In her free time, Lisa likes to spend time with family and friends, preferably outside in warm weather! She is a huge sports fan and enthusiastic supporter of Chicago sports teams.
