Key takeaways from the report include:

    • In 2025, estimated losses climbed to nearly $725 million, a 60% increase from 2024.
    • Criminals are focusing on high-value shipments, with the average value per theft now at $273,990.
    • The top targeted locations are warehouse/distribution centers and truck stops.
    • California, Texas, and Illinois continue to account for more than half of all reported cargo theft incidents, while New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Indiana saw notable spikes in activity. 
    • Metal theft rose by 77%, reflecting increased demand and resale opportunities in illicit markets.
