Announcing AgTC’s 2016 Annual Scholarship Winners


Avalon Risk Management is proud to award the 2016 Agriculture Transportation Coalition (AgTC) Scholarship to:

  • Mindy Duerst, Ioka Marketing, LLC
  • John-Michael Ruder, Omnicotton, Inc

The scholarship will allow Duerst and Ruder to attend the AgTC Annual Meeting held in Long Beach, CA on June 15-17, 2016. The scholarship funds, provided by Avalon, will be used to cover the cost of transportation and accommodations. The AgTC also waives the conference registration fee for each scholarship recipient.

To qualify, candidates must have had a minimum of 2 years experience in the agricultural logistics industry and have never attended the AgTC Annual Meeting. Candidates needed to submit an application and agree to submit an essay after attending AgTC summarizing their experience at AgTC and explaining how their attendance will benefit them and further their career goals. Avalon works closely with industry associations to support education, awareness and compliance.

Peter Friedmann, Executive Director of the Agriculture Transportation Coalition notes, “The mission of the AgTC is to provide real, tangible value to agriculture exporters and importers. Our partnership with Avalon Risk Management goes far towards achieving this mission.”
