Carnet Bond
The Merchandise Passport

Should you be using a Carnet? An ATA Carnet is an internationally recognized Customs document for temporary duty-free export of commercial samples, professional equipment and goods displayed at trade shows. Carnets are accepted in over 75 countries, including Chile, the first Latin American country beginning October of 2005.  The United States Council for International Business (USCIB) administers the Carnet system in the U.S. and the global ATA Carnet system is overseen by the Paris-based International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in cooperation with the World Customs Organization (WCO). The acronym “ATA” is a combination of the French and English abbreviations for “temporary admission”.

Avalon is a supplier of Carnet bonds and they can be easily obtained by writing to carnets@avalonrisk.com.
